Author Notes: My first fic with this kind of theme. I need to search for the information of Bakufu era for this ^^

The fic, especially this part, is inspired by Ryuhei Matsuda movie, titled 'Gohatto/Taboo', ( you can check for the trailer of this movie HERE ) and also got another inspiration from a manga titled 'Flash of Wind/Kaze Hikaru' by Taeko Watanabe. Actually, i take the inspiration for the troops from Shinsengumi, but as i stated before, this is purely a fiction, and doesn't have any actual relations with the Shinsengumi itself. Also, this fic will be divided into three chapter, each chapter has their own story but still have a relation to the first chapter.

Please note too that i purposely write the name of Inoran in a different way in every chapter (in this chapter, I used his real name, Inoue Kiyonobu). Okay, just enjoy this chapter and if you have any question, feel free to comment me.

CHAPTER 1: THE PAST

PART ONE

Gazing at a flower that withers and falls, it melts into darkness

Have the generations of this past millennium embraced the same unhappiness?

End of Bakufu era

The sound of wooden sword clashing can be heard from faraway. Today there's another kendo match in the samurai troops' dojo. A group of men sitting in the dojo, watching as two young man fighting with using a wooden sword.

The kendo fight is so intense until someone finally point the wooden sword to the opponent's neck.

"The winner is Inoue!" Someone announce.

"Looks like I can't win against you," the opponent smiles to a young man in front of him who's also smiling.

"Thanks for your hard work!" The young man named Inoue Kiyonobu bows his head and slowly walking away while releasing his head protector.

"Do you have time tonight?" One of his friend named Kawamura comes to him.

"Sorry, I need to do something. Maybe next time," Inoue steps out from the dojo.

"But we don't have a task now. Come on, let's have fun with the girls tonight. We never see you hanging out with a girl," Kawamura still persuades him.

"I'm really sorry. But I'm not interested with things like that." Inoue politely rejects him.

"Do you prefer to be with a man?"

Inoue stops for a while and stares at Kawamura. "Kawamura-san, please, leave me alone." He excuses himself and walks fast to the backyard. There, he goes to the small garden and sits under a big tree.

He knows already about a rumor that spread in the troop about himself. That he's only interested with man. And one of his mate is his lover. It's all started when someone named Yashiro Hajime stated that he likes him. Inoue rejected him, but he still insisted and want Inoue to accept him. Inoue himself is also well-known for his pretty face, besides his flawless skill on kendo and in the battlefield.

Unfortunately, Inoue already have someone that he loves. The problem is: he's not supposed to love that person. But everything already happened.

Inoue takes out a small piece of paper that has a message on it. 'Meet me tonight in the usual place. Jun.' He smiles as the memories of their first met flashes through his mind.

Flashback

Inoue Kiyonobu is the eldest son of the Inoue family who is also well-known as the samurai family. Therefore, when he was young, he already learnt about kendo from his father and to make his skill improved, his father told him to join the famous dojo in town.

It was just another ordinary learning day when he met a tall boy who is on a heated argument with one of the instructor in the dojo. He's somehow a little bit different than the other student, because he seems to not giving much attention about what the instructor said. Actually, Inoue hates people like that. Why join this dojo if he doesn't serious with kendo? He doesn't even bother to know the boy's name because he's really not interested with him.

One day, Inoue was on the way home when suddenly someone kidnapped him. He tried to release himself but the man that hold him was way much stronger than him. Another man throw away his sword before he could grab it. They took him to an abandoned house and revealed themselves in front of him. The kidnappers consists of four people who wants to have a revenge to his father, that's why they intended to kill Inoue. Two person holding both of his hands, one person already preparing to kill him with his katana and one person watching them.  But just before the man swung his sword, someone slashed the man who act as the watcher. That man falls with a bloody open wounds on his back, and by that Inoue notice that the one who killed him was the boy from the dojo whom he dislike. Despite of the attitude he showed in the dojo, he have a skillful swordplay and the guts to kill people.

The man who use the sword was very surprised with that sudden attack. He get mad and attacked the boy. They both have a fierce duel that makes Inoue amazed. So, behind his ignorant act, the boy was a talented samurai. One by one the kidnappers fall down with severe wounds.

Inoue watched him in silence as he stand in front of him, still with a katana on his hand. Blood staining his haori (outer clothes in kimono) and his face. But he stayed cool when he put his katana back on its place and wipe the blood on his face with his clothes.

"Why did you save me?" Inoue finally have the guts to talk to him.

"I just don't like people messing up my place."

"Your place?"

The boy nodded. "I love this place. Why?"

"No.. Nothing... Anyway, thanks for saving me...."

"Onose Jun." The boy reach out his hand. "You can call me Jun."

"Inoue Kiyonobu." Inoue awkwardly shake his hand.

And ever since that day, they are friends. Jun stopped learning at the dojo and Inoue was forced to join the samurai troops which made them can't meet with each other for quite long before Inoue accidentally meet him again when he was on a patrol duty.

That night, the troops got a report that some people was being attacked by a bunch of samurai from the opposite party. To proof that, Inoue dare to be the decoy and walked in the street late at night. He indeed got an attack from someone, but he know the fighting style from the person who attacked him.

"Jun?" He try to hold the attack using his katana.

"Ino?" The man stopped his attack and seems surprised. He move closer and stared at Inoue before grabbing him into his arms. It's Jun indeed. He still remember this strong arms that always protect him from any harm. He was so happy that they could meet again but right now, Jun is his enemy. However, Inoue managed to lie to all of his friends in the troops that he couldn't catch the member of the gang. Since then, they met each other secretly because if someone knew about their relationship, it will be very dangerous. But it doesn't change the fact that Inoue is falling in love with Jun and luckily Jun feels the same too.

Night came. As Inoue sees that some of his fellow already leave this place, he silently walks outside too, but to the opposite direction of where the others are going. He walks to the row of the ordinary houses, a couple of blocks away from their main headquarter and stop in front of a ryokan that located in the corner. He watches everything around him to make sure that no one follows him before he finally turn and enter the ryokan.

A middle-aged woman greets him as he enters the main building. After telling her that he needs to meet someone in the seventh room, the woman quickly takes him to a certain room. Inoue opens the door when she leaves. He silently enter the room, closing the door and put the sword that he always carry on the floor. "I've been waiting for you." The man says.

Inoue smiles sweetly as he stares at the man in front of him. The man that he loves. He takes a few steps forward and let himself being hug by the man.

"I miss you, Jun."

"I miss you too," Jun slowly let go of his hug, stares at Inoue and tilted his head to kiss Inoue's lips. They share a deep and passionate kiss before Jun slowly let go of his hug.

"We might have to find another place to meet up. I'm afraid that someone might find out about this place. If that happens...."

"I know," Inoue cut Jun's words, "so we only have tonight, right?"

Jun nods. "I have to do my mission soon."

Inoue doesn't say a word. He knows once Jun do that, they will have no chance to meet like this again and he have to prepare for the worst.

Jun lift up Inoue's face, he caress his cheek tenderly. "Someday, we'll be together again. I promise." He kiss Inoue's forehead.

Inoue finally let out a smile. "I'm gonna wait until that day comes."

"You're so cute," Jun laugh a little, "no one will thought you're a cold-blooded samurai if they see you like this." Jun pats Inoue head and that makes him pout before he put his arms around Jun. "And no one will think that you're a part of the killer gang if you act like this," Inoue said before kissing Jun's lips passionately. His hand slowly releasing the clothes that Jun wear.

As Inoue keep kissing him hungrily, Jun's hand moves to undress him too.

He stops for a while when he see bruises and red marks around Inoue's shoulder. He once heard a rumour about Inoue and his samurai troops, that some of them had a thing for young swordsman that joined their troop. Not only hitting or teasing the junior, but the seniors used to ask their juniors to have sex with them. And he knows that with his pretty face and young age, Inoue is one of their target. It's not the first time he see some bruises in his body anyway.

Jun tenderly kiss Inoue's lips and makes him to lay on the futon near them. He continue to kiss Inoue's neck and shoulder, then moving down to Inoue's chest. He teases Inoue's nipples by kissing and nibbling it, making Inoue moans in response and holds Jun's shoulder.

Inoue close his eyes as Jun kisses and licks his torso. He opens his eyes again when Jun stops his licking and kisses his lips again. He smiles for a seconds before pushing Jun to lay on the futon, and attack him with kisses all over his body.

Jun starts to moan when Inoue touch his erection and licking it from the ball to the tip of the length before engulfing it into his mouth. Inoue moves his head back and forth slowly at first, and getting a little bit faster when Jun told him to move his body so his hips now facing Jun's head. Without wasting time, Jun hold his butt and licks Inoue's balls, continued with nibbling his hard erection. They keep pleasuring each other and Jun takes the next step by parting Inoue's butt cheeks and inserting his tongue on the opening.

Inoue stops for a while, as he could feel Jun's tongue coming back and forth on his opening while his hand now pumping Jun's erection. "Jun......" Inoue said between his moans.

Jun stops what he's been doing and moves his body. He kiss Inoue's back before saying, "are you ready?"

A quick nod came as a reply and Jun position himself before teasing Inoue's opening with the head of his cock.

"Jun.... Please....."

Jun just grins and finally enter him slowly, making Inoue almost scream due to the sharp pain of that sudden intrusion. Jun enter him fully and start to thrust him with a steady rythm while Inoue still fighting over the pain that he felt. But soon, that pain is replaced by a pleasure, making him moan uncontrollable.  

Jun told Inoue to change their position, now Inoue is lying on the futon, facing him as he once again enter him. Inoue wraps his arms on Jun's neck and kiss him. As their tongue meet with each other, Jun thrust faster and harder.

Inoue moves his hand to hold on to Jun's upper arms, he let out a shout along with Jun's thrust.

Not too long after that, Jun released the creamy white liquid inside Inoue. He takes a few seconds to breathe before pumping Inoue's erection and kiss him sensually. The white liquid spatters, staining Jun's hand and both of their stomach. Jun lay on top of Inoue for a while to catch his breath before releasing himself and lying beside him.

Inoue smiles and kiss him once again before nuzzled closer to him. Jun kiss his forehead tenderly.

Inoue wraps his arms on Jun's body as if not wanting Jun to go away. He close his eyes and drifted to the dream world.

Inoue is tidying his clothes when Jun grabs him into his arms again and kiss him.

"I love you," Jun said.

"I love you too," Inoue smiles. He grabs something from the side of his clothes. "Jun, take this."

Jun accept it. It's a very small knife, on the size of the palm.

"If something bad happened on your mission, you can use this as your secret weapon." Inoue explains.

"Thanks," Jun keep it. He once again take a look at his lover. He caress Inoue's face for the last time, "take care of yourself."

Inoue nods. "You too."

Then Jun finally leaves the room. Inoue just standing there for a while. Somehow he got a bad feeling about Jun. Even though he know that Jun is always on a secret mission from his party, but just for this time, he doesn't want Jun to take the whatever mission they gave him. He doesn't want to lose Jun.

But then he take his sword and leaves the room too, believing that someday, Jun will contact him again and they will spend the night together again.

Since the political situation no longer safe, Inoue and the other members of the troops must do the night and day patrol more often than before. Even though his mind still worrying about Jun, but nevertheless he must concentrate on this task.

One day, when he's about to prepare himself for a night patrol, his friend calls him.

"Inoue-san, there's a fire. You need to help the others there!"

Inoue nods and hurrily pick up his sword. He runs with his friend to the fire area and he's very shocked that the fire already burnt down his house.

"Noooo! Father!" Inoue shouts, he's running to his house but the others keep him from getting closer to the house.

"Let me go! I want to save my father and my brothers!" Tears start to form in his eyes. But the others still preventing him to move.

"There's someone out here!" One of his friend shout and chasing someone who wears a black kimono. The person takes out his katana and fights back. But Inoue still on his place, staring at the fire before finally join the people to get water to extinguish the fire. He failed to notice the way the man in the black kimono looks at him, making the man losing his concentration, which ended up by losing his sword and almost getting killed by one of his troop member, Sugihara.

"He's from our enemy party. He must be the one that burn down this houses." Yashiro stated.

"Let's take him to our headquarter." Yamada said. When the man is being tied and about to be moved to their headquarter, Inoue takes a glance at him, he wants to kill him but stops when he see that the person is Jun.

"Why? Why did you do this?" Inoue ask that question in tears.

"I didn't do anything...." Jun replies.

"Liar!" Someone kicks Jun from behind. "We know that you're the one that making all of this!"

Jun still stares at Inoue. "Trust me..." His lips mouthing those words to Inoue, but the latter is already drown in his sadness and disappointed.
